Buiseid x Sharifa Nakawooya
Buiseid x Sharifa Nakawooya - A collaborative collection shown at Graduate Fashion Week.
During my secon year of university I was approached by Sharifa Nakawooya and asked to make two sample dresses for her to wear using fabrics that she had developed.
Once our course leaders caught wind of our side project they encouraged us to persue a larger, 6 outift collection, to present at Graduate Fashion Week.
This was an enormous undertaking for a second year student and it came with a great many technical challenges.
Through out the coming weeks, I presented patterns a toiles to Sharifa and we worked to get fabrics printed for each look. I then independently cut and made all six looks and styled them for the show. To this day it is a great achievement of mine and I am endlessly grateful to Sharifa for my involvement.
