Ivory Silk Wedding Dress
A bias-cut gown drafted from measurements, fitted across several sessions.
She came in with three photographs and a feeling, something that moved when she walked and didn't look like anything off a rail. We drafted the pattern from her measurements rather than adapting a block, which is what lets a bias cut sit properly on one specific body.
A calico toile came first, refined over three fittings before the silk was touched. The real triumph for me as a designer / maker is to have the garment be wearable for years to come, a piece like this can be worn for many different occasions.
